Mix one bottle of fruity red wine (we used a Pinot Noir) with 3 c. of apple cider, the juice and zest of an orange, 1/4 c. of honey and a few spices — we used about six whole cloves, two cinnamon sticks, and three star anise, but you can really go wild her with whatever you’ve got. Cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg, you name it. If you’re feeling extra chilly, you can also add a 1/2 c. of brandy. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
