8 cups powdered sugar
1 Tbs vanilla extract
More water for thinning
Gel food coloring

For the Cake:

1 cup sugar
1¼ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp kosher salt
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup milk

For the Frosting:

2 sticks salted butter, room temperature
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbs milk
