Banana Pudding – a southern classic

Ingredients:

For the pudding:
½ cup cornstarch
⅛ teaspoon salt
2½ cups whole milk
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 egg yolks
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups sliced ripe bananas, sliced about ½ inch thick
1 box Vanilla Wafers
For the Meringue:
½ cup water
1 cup sugar
4 egg whites
pinch of salt
½ teaspoon cream of tarter
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
